      The type IH stainless steel chemical centrifugal pump is a single-stage, single-suction, cantilever type centrifugal pump, resistant to corrosion, with nominal performance point and dimensions according to the international standard IS02858-1975(E). It is an energy-saving product designed to replace the corrosion-resistant pump type F. This series of chemical centrifugal pumps is designed according to the performance requirements, technical specifications, and testing methods of energy-saving pumps, being one of the promoted products in China. It was developed by the technical staff of Changsha Zhonglian Pump Industry Co., Ltd. in collaboration with national pump experts, using excellent national hydraulic models. It is intended for the suction and transport of clean water and liquids with physical-chemical properties similar to water, without solid particles. It is widely used in urban and industrial drainage, fire water supply, among others. It can transport corrosive media at temperatures from 20°C to 105°C or media with physical-chemical properties similar to water.

    The IH chemical pump has 29 basic models, of which 22 are dual-speed (2900, 1450r/min). By modifying the impeller diameter in two types A and B, 112 specifications are obtained.

      Note: In addition to the materials listed in the table above, the manufacturer may select suitable materials for the manufacture of this series of chemical pumps according to user needs. The selected materials and their codes must comply in principle with GB2100-80. For materials without an assigned national code, the use of common international or national codes (such as industrial or factory standards) is allowed.

    Features of the stainless steel chemical centrifugal pump type IH, single-stage, single-suction, and horizontal

      The IH chemical pump has a reasonable and reliable hydraulic design, small size, lightweight, good cavitation resistance, low power consumption, easy maintenance, and high work efficiency. The single-stage IH chemical pump has a horizontal structure, designed to fit all piping installations.

      The IH chemical pump can transport media with temperatures from -20°C to 105°C. When necessary, a double-sided seal cooling device is used. It can transport media with temperatures from 20°C to +280°C. It is suitable for chemical, petroleum, metallurgical, electrical, paper, food, pharmaceutical, environmental, wastewater treatment, and synthetic fiber industries, to transport corrosive or water-like media that must not be contaminated.

      The cover of the IH chemical centrifugal pump is fixed to the intermediate support by a stop, and then tightened between the pump body and the intermediate support through the stop connection. The pump body has axial suction and radial discharge, with a foot support, and can be directly fixed to the base. The support components are fixed to the intermediate support by a stop and are supported on the base with a suspension support. To facilitate disassembly, an elongated coupling is designed that allows maintenance without disassembling the inlet and outlet pipes, the pump body, or the motor. It is only necessary to disassemble the intermediate piece of the coupling to remove the rotor and perform maintenance. This is a common international structure.

      Direction of rotation of the IH chemical centrifugal pump: the pump is driven directly by the motor through the elongated coupling and rotates clockwise when viewed from the motor end.

      Packing seal: the pump cover has a packing box with a soft packing seal. Water can be introduced at a certain pressure into the box to cool, lubricate, and clean the seal.

      Mechanical seal: there are two types, single-face mechanical seal and double-face mechanical seal. Water is introduced at a certain pressure into the sealing chamber to wash both friction faces and cool.

      The stainless steel chemical centrifugal pump type IH uses packing seal or mechanical seal, according to user needs. Shaft seals with sealing chamber dimensions and other structures according to ISO3069 are also allowed, such as mechanical seals with bellows and auxiliary impeller seals, among others.

      1. Preparation before starting

      (1) Clean the pump and the site before starting.

      (2) Check that the amount of lubricating oil in the support is adequate (the oil level should be approximately 2 mm on the central line of the indicator) and that the indicator is in good condition.

      (3) Before connecting the coupling, check that the motor's direction of rotation matches the pump's rotation arrow, then connect the coupling.

      (4) After installing the mechanical seal or packing and the coupling, the pump shaft should be able to rotate manually without rubbing, and the protective cover of the coupling should be placed.

      (5) When the pump operates in suction, it must be primed or air extracted before starting; when operating in backflow, it must be filled with the transported liquid to expel the air and close the gate valve of the discharge pipe.

      (6) Before starting, check that the base bolts are not loose, that the packing gland is not misaligned, and that the supply of lubricating oil and cooling water is adequate.

      2. Start

      (1) Close the pressure (or vacuum) gauge of the inlet and outlet and the outlet valve, (if there is a bypass tube, it should also be closed at this time). Start the motor (preferably first in pulse mode to confirm that the pump direction is correct before starting formal operation), then open the pressure (or vacuum) gauge of the inlet and outlet. When the pump reaches normal speed and the instrument indicates the corresponding pressure, slowly open the outlet valve and adjust to the necessary working conditions. When the discharge pipe is closed, the continuous operating time of the pump should not exceed 3 minutes.

      (2) During startup, constantly pay attention to the power reading of the primary motor and the vibration of the pump; the vibration should not exceed 0.06 millimeters, and the measurement point is the bearing support.

      (3) Sealing condition: the mechanical seal should not have leaks or heating; the packing seal should show a continuous drip.

      3. Operation

      (1) Frequently check the heating of the pump and the motor (the temperature rise of the bearing should not exceed 75℃) and the oil supply of the level indicator. (Generally, after every 1500 hours of operation, all lubricating oil should be changed).

      (2) Do not use the suction valve to adjust the flow to avoid cavitation.

      (3) The pump should not operate continuously below 30% of the design flow; if continuous operation under this condition is necessary, a bypass tube should be installed at the outlet to discharge the excess flow.

      (4) Pay attention to any abnormal noise during the operation of the pump; if an abnormal condition is detected, it should be eliminated in time or stopped for inspection.

      4. Stopping

      (1) Slowly close the gate valve of the discharge pipe (if the pump is used under reflux conditions, also close the gate valve of the suction pipe) and turn off the switches of various instruments.

      (2) Cut off the power supply.

      (3) If the seal uses external liquid supply, also close the external supply valve.

      (4) If the ambient temperature is below the freezing point of the liquid, completely drain the liquid inside the pump to prevent it from freezing and cracking.

      (5) If the pump will be stopped for a long time, in addition to draining the corrosive liquid inside the pump, all parts should be disassembled and carefully cleaned, especially the sealing chamber. Ideally, the pump should be disassembled for cleaning and then reassembled; in addition to applying oil to prevent oxidation and sealing the pump's inlets and outlets, periodic inspection should also be carried out.

     

    Stainless steel chemical centrifugal pump type IH Maintenance of the mechanical seal

      1. Since the mechanical seal is generally used in clean media without suspended particles, the newly installed piping system and storage tank should be carefully washed to prevent solid impurities from entering the sealing surface of the mechanical seal and causing failures.

      2. In media prone to crystallization, attention should be paid to frequently washing the mechanical seal. After stopping the pump and before restarting it, completely clean the crystals from the mechanical seal.

      3. When disassembling the mechanical seal, do it carefully; do not use hand hammers, iron tools, or other impacts to avoid damaging the sealing surfaces of the moving and fixed rings.

      4. If there is dirt that cannot be removed, a way to eliminate it should be sought and thoroughly washed before disassembly to avoid damaging the seal components.

      5. Before installing the mechanical seal, check if all seal components are defective or damaged; if so, they should be repaired or replaced.

      6. The sealing surface should be strictly inspected for relative friction between the moving ring and the fixed ring; scratches, impacts, or other defects are not allowed. All other parts, including the pump body, impeller, and sealing chamber, should be thoroughly washed before assembly, especially the surfaces of the moving and fixed rings, which should be carefully cleaned with a clean, soft cloth or cotton, and then a layer of clean grease or machine oil should be applied.

      7. During assembly, pay attention to eliminate deviations; when tightening the screws, do it evenly to avoid tilting that causes seal failures.

      8. Correctly adjust the compression of the spring; after installing the pump, when turning the rotor by hand, the seal spring should feel somewhat compressed but can rotate easily and flexibly without getting stuck. If it feels too tight or does not rotate, it should be loosened a bit.

      9. For mechanical seals with external washing, before starting, first open the washing liquid to fill the sealing chamber with sealing liquid. When stopping, first stop the pump and then close the washing liquid of the seal.

    Why is the price quotation so slow?

    Because centrifugal pumps are non-standard custom products with many models and a wide price range. Even for the same model, the price varies greatly depending on the materials and configurations used. Taking the most common pump accessory—the impeller—as an example, the price of a stainless steel impeller is several times that of a cast iron impeller. Therefore, we need to clearly confirm the relevant information to provide you with an accurate price. Normally, if you provide comprehensive information, we can quote within 5 minutes.

    What information should I provide when I need a quote?

    Usually, if you want to get an accurate quote, it is recommended that you provide us with the following information: pump flow rate, head, on-site operating voltage, frequency, temperature of the conveyed liquid, pH value, solid particle content, on-site installation conditions (horizontal or vertical installation), and other related details. If you are not very familiar with these, it’s okay; our sales manager will assist you in determining them.

    Do you have centrifugal pumps in stock?

    There are many models and configurations of centrifugal pumps. Except for a small number of commonly used standard models that are in stock, the vast majority of models and configurations are not stocked and are customized products. We need to first select the pump based on your site conditions such as flow rate, head, medium temperature, pH value, and installation conditions. After determining the pump model and configuration, we can then place an order with the workshop for production.
