    Meaning of PW Horizontal Sewage Pump Model

    Application Range of PW Type Horizontal Sewage Pump:

    　　1. PW type horizontal sewage pump can transport sewage containing suspended solid particles, long fiber materials, and domestic wastewater. The pump body is made of high-quality cast iron, and the medium temperature does not exceed 100℃.

    　　2. PWF type horizontal sewage pump can transport acidic, alkaline, or other corrosive sewage, widely used in chemical, petroleum, light industry, food, pharmaceutical, brewing, environmental protection, and sewage treatment industries. The pump body and flow parts are made of 304 stainless steel, and the medium temperature does not exceed 100℃.

    　　This type of horizontal sewage pump mainly consists of: pump cover (1), pump body (2), impeller (3), shaft (15), shaft seal body (4), bearing box (11), and coupling parts (see Figure 1: Structure Diagram).

    　　The pump outlet is vertically upward but can also be installed horizontally. This pump is directly driven by an elastic coupling (belt drive can be used if needed).

    　　The impeller has only two curved blades inside, so the flow channel is wide and can pass general suspended particles.

    　　There are 4 auxiliary blades on the back of the impeller to balance axial thrust. The impeller undergoes static balance testing during manufacturing.

    　　The pump rotation direction is clockwise when viewed from the drive end.

    　　The bearing box bearings are lubricated with light oil, and the oil level is indicated by the oil indicator. The oil level should be at the normal oil level line.

    　　This pump uses oil seal for shaft sealing, which has good sealing performance and is easy to replace.

    　　The sealing ring is made of cast iron, fixed on the pump cover, and can be replaced with spare parts after wear.

    　　Clearance f between the pump cover and the impeller inlet end, and assembly clearance T between the sealing ring and the impeller.

    Starting, Stopping, and Operation of Sewage Pump:

    　　1. Starting

    　　1) Check whether oil has been added to the bearing box and if the oil level is at the normal oil level line.

    　　2) Check whether the motor rotation direction matches the pump rotation direction.

    　　3) Close the outlet gate valve and pressure gauge cock, and fill water into the pump suction pipe through the upper threaded hole on the pump body.

    　　4) Start the motor and open the pressure gauge cock.

    　　5) When the pump reaches normal speed and the pressure gauge shows the corresponding pressure, open the vacuum gauge cock and gradually open the gate valve on the discharge pipeline to the required extent.

    　　2. Stopping

    　　1) Slowly close the discharge pipeline gate valve first, then cut off the power supply.

    　　2) In freezing seasons, after stopping, open the square plug at the bottom of the pump body to drain the remaining water to prevent freezing damage.

    　　3) If not used for a long time, disassemble and clean all parts, apply anti-rust oil on sliding surfaces, and store properly.

    　　3. Operation

    　　1) During pump operation, pay attention to instruments, bearing temperature, packing leakage, pump vibration, and noise. Handle abnormalities promptly.

    　　2) The maximum bearing temperature should not exceed 75℃.

    　　3) Bearing oil should be maintained at the normal oil level line, neither too high nor too low. Add oil promptly if too low.

    　　4) Replace the sealing ring if the clearance between the sealing ring and impeller exceeds the specified values below.

    　　When the suction diameter ≤100mm, total clearance in diameter direction ≥1.5mm.

    　　When the suction diameter >100mm, total clearance in diameter direction ≥2mm.

    Assembly and Disassembly of Sewage Pump:

    　　First check whether any defects affect assembly, then clean parts before assembly.

    　　1. Prepare paper gaskets, plug screws, and pipe plugs, and install them on corresponding parts.

    　　2. Install sealing ring, shaft seal box, oil indicator, oil hole cover, and felt pad into pump cover, bearing body, bearing box, and bearing cover respectively.

    　　3. Install bearings on both ends of the shaft, insert into bearing box, then install bearing cover.

    　　4. Install bearing body, bearing (not in 4PW), oil seal ring, gasket, impeller, gasket, and impeller nut in order and tighten, then install pump body and pump cover.

    　　Disassembly and assembly must be done in reverse order.

    Precautions for Sewage Discharge Pumps:

    　　1) The inlet and outlet water pipes of the pump should be supported; the pump body must not be used as support.

    　　2) A gate valve should be installed on the outlet pipeline.

    　　A general trash rack should be installed at the pump suction pipe inlet to prevent larger stones and other objects from being sucked into the pump and damaging the impeller.

    Usually, if you want to get an accurate quote, it is recommended that you provide us with the following information: pump flow rate, head, on-site operating voltage, frequency, temperature of the conveyed liquid, pH value, solid particle content, on-site installation conditions (horizontal or vertical installation), and other related details.     There are many models and configurations of centrifugal pumps. Except for a small number of commonly used standard models that are in stock, the vast majority of models and configurations are not stocked and are customized products. We need to first select the pump based on your site conditions such as flow rate, head, medium temperature, pH value, and installation conditions. After determining the pump model and configuration, we can then place an order with the workshop for production.
