Composition of the water supply equipment with pressure increase and stabilization for fire protection
The fire water supply system is mainly composed of air pressure tank, water pump, control cabinet, control instruments, pipe fittings, etc. The pump body consists of motor and pump. The fire pressure increase series belongs to constant pressure water supply equipment, designed and manufactured according to the national standard design catalog 98S205 and others, being special equipment for pressure increase and stabilization for fire protection. It can always maintain the pressure of the pressure gauge (i.e., the water pressure in the user's network) equal to the value set by the user. It can be used for residential or industrial water supply. The forms of composition of the water supply system are:
1. The water supply equipment with pressure increase and stabilization for fire protection is connected to the municipal network for constant pressure water supply; when the supply pressure can meet the demand, all pumps stop automatically. Otherwise, the constant pressure supply equipment is activated to increase the pressure and meet the water usage requirements.
2. Small pumps or air pressure tanks are added to eliminate electrical consumption in small flow or zero flow; when the supply pressure is low, the main pump stops automatically and the small pump or air pressure tank operates.
The structure of the pump includes pump body, impeller, pump cover, mechanical seal, and other components; the pump and motor are coaxial. The axial force of the pump is balanced by a balance ring in the impeller. The inlet and outlet of the pump are on the same horizontal axis and have the same diameter. The pump has an installation base to facilitate installation and increase stability during operation.
1) The equipment is divided according to the fire water supply system:
a. Water supply equipment with pressure increase and stabilization for fire hydrant system; b. Water supply equipment with pressure increase and stabilization for automatic sprinkler system; c. Water supply equipment with pressure increase and stabilization combined for hydrants and automatic sprinkler system.
2) The equipment is divided according to the installation position:

3) The equipment is divided according to the configuration of the air pressure tank:

Water supply equipment with pressure increase and stabilization with air recharge; d. Water supply equipment with pressure increase and stabilization with capsule tank.
Operating principle and characteristics of the water supply equipment with pressure increase and stabilization for fire protection
The constant pressure fire water supply equipment first sets the supply pressure value according to the user's requirements, then it is energized to operate. The pressure sensor monitors the network pressure and converts it into an electrical signal sent to the programmable controller or microcontroller. After analysis, the signal is sent to the inverter to control the operation of the pump. When water consumption increases, the output voltage and frequency increase, the pump speed increases, and the flow rate increases. When consumption decreases, the pump speed decreases to reduce the flow, maintaining the network pressure at the set value. In operation with multiple pumps, soft start is performed sequentially, changing from variable frequency to fixed frequency until pressure and flow are satisfied, achieving cyclic control of the pumps. In nighttime operation with low flow, the pump with inverter maintains operation and can stop to maintain pressure.
1) Start mode: the equipment has three control modes: automatic, manual, and remote fire link. It can be started locally with an emergency button or remotely from the fire center. The inverter cabinet has a fire start/stop signal interface; upon receiving the signal, it enters the state of constant pressure water supply for fire protection. If a pump fails or the flow is insufficient, another pump with inverter is automatically activated. When the signal ceases, it returns to the normal constant pressure state. To prevent failures of the automatic inverter, the system has a manual start function at fixed frequency.
2) Pressure stabilization function: in automatic mode without fire signal, the equipment operates in constant pressure state with inverter. The pressure gauge collects the limit pressure signal of the network; when the pressure drops to the lower limit, the fire pump operates with inverter to replenish water to the network. Upon reaching the upper limit, the pump stops and the air pressure tank maintains pressure by replenishing water.
3) Automatic pump switching function: the main fire pump has a periodic rotation function, with a cycle set by the inverter cabinet program, generally 24 hours. If a failure is detected in one pump, it immediately switches to another for stable operation and displays an alarm.
4) Automatic inspection function (manual): although the fire pumps switch automatically to maintain pressure, it is necessary to inspect them periodically to prevent accidental factors from causing a pump to not operate for a long time and oxidize. The inspection cycle and time are set by program. If there is a failure during inspection, the system automatically alerts.
5) Intelligent fire function: in case of fire or severe leak in the network without fire signal, the equipment automatically enters the state of high constant pressure water supply and issues an alarm.
6) Multiple protection functions and failure alarms: the system has protection and alarm against phase failure, overload, grounding, low voltage, etc.
7) Control interface: the system has a water level interface for low water alarm. It also has link and feedback interfaces with the fire center for automatic remote start and feedback of pump status. According to requirements, a standard RS485 communication interface can be provided for remote monitoring.
8) It can be equipped with a dual power source switching device, which automatically switches to backup power in case of failure of the main source.
