    Product summary

As one of the recognized domestic manufacturers of multistage centrifugal pumps, to actively respond to the national call for energy saving and sustainable development, our company, after studying and adopting advanced technologies from similar foreign products and combining years of pump design experience, produces an efficient and energy-saving series of API self-balancing multistage centrifugal pumps (BB4). This series of multistage pumps uses a state-recommended hydraulic model, developed according to API610 standards, with advantages such as high efficiency and low energy consumption, wide performance range, reasonable structure, good cavitation resistance, safe and stable operation, low noise, few wear parts, and easy installation and maintenance, positioning it at the technological forefront of the industry.

The API (BB4) self-balancing multistage centrifugal pump, as an efficient and energy-saving multistage pump, is a specific product within the self-balancing multistage pump series. It features a secure sealing design; depending on pressure and structure, the pump casing uses metal-to-metal hard sealing or O-ring sealing, with advantages of uniform flow, simple structure, wide flow and head range, and easy maintenance. It is widely used in petrochemicals, oilfield surface engineering, and crude oil water injection. The DYP type self-balancing multistage pump innovates the traditional structure of multistage centrifugal pumps by eliminating the axial force balance device of common multistage pumps and using symmetrical impeller arrangement to mutually cancel axial forces, effectively solving axial displacement. During operation, there is no efficiency loss caused by balance disc friction or reflux, increasing efficiency by 3-12% compared to similar common multistage pumps. Additionally, it completely eliminates failures such as wear or blockage of the balance disc and seat due to balance device failure, significantly extending pump life. Years of user experience show that our self-balancing multistage pumps have higher reliability and efficiency than traditional multistage pumps, with a failure-free operating time more than three times longer, effectively extending service life, saving production costs, and significantly reducing operation and maintenance costs. The DYP type self-balancing multistage pump is the main product for transporting oils and petroleum substances within the series, classified as a high-pressure multistage centrifugal oil pump, and is a substitute product for traditional DY type multistage pumps with balance discs or drums.

    1. Static part

Mainly composed of the suction section (water inlet), middle section, discharge section (water outlet), guide vanes, secondary water inlet section, packing body (rear cover), and bearing body, all connected with tension bolts forming a unit. From the coupling end, the pump inlet is oriented horizontally to the right and the outlet vertically upwards.

    2. Rotating part

Mainly composed of shaft, impeller, shaft choke components, bearings, and sleeves.

    3. Pump sealing

3.1 The static joint surfaces between the suction section, middle section, discharge section, and secondary water inlet section are sealed with sealing adhesive or molybdenum disulfide.

3.2 Choke sealing is used between the pump stages.

3.3 Shaft seals on both sides of the pump use soft packing.

3.4 A water retention ring is used to prevent water from entering the bearings.

    4. Bearing part

The complete pump rotor is supported by a cylindrical roller bearing at the drive end according to GB/T283-94, and an angular contact ball bearing at the opposite end according to GB/T292-94. Bearings are lubricated with mechanical oil CD30 or CD40 added to the bearing body up to the center of the oil sight glass. Due to the use of the angular contact ball bearing GB/T292-94, the assembled rotor has no axial displacement.

Image 1   Operating principle of the API (BB4) self-balancing multistage centrifugal pump

The pump shaft, driven by the motor, rotates the impeller, performing work on the liquid and increasing its rotational energy at high speed, so that the required amount of liquid passes successively from the suction tank through the pump inlet section, direct impeller, direct guide vanes, middle section, horizontal outlet, transition tube, secondary inlet section, reverse impeller, reverse guide vanes, to the vertical outlet, and then discharges to the demand point.

Image 1   10 major advantages of the self-balancing multistage pump VS traditional multistage pump

    1. New structure: the self-balancing multistage pump has rotating components with symmetrically arranged impellers, so that the axial forces generated by the direct and reverse impeller groups cancel each other out, eliminating the balance disk device which has small gaps, high pressure drop, easy erosion, wear, and failures, surpassing the traditional structure of multistage pumps;

    2. New technology: the self-balancing multistage pump features exclusive throttling and pressure reduction devices, and a balance device on odd stages that also acts as an auxiliary support;

    3. High energy efficiency: The self-balancing multistage pump uses an advanced hydraulic model that solves the wear and axial pulsation caused by the balance disk, always maintaining excellent alignment between the impeller and the guide. During prolonged use, it prevents the significant efficiency decrease caused by wear of the balance disk and forward displacement of rotor components in common multistage pumps, in addition to eliminating balance water leakage, reducing volumetric loss, generally improving the pump's operational efficiency and reducing shaft power, with an average efficiency 3%-12% higher than common multistage pumps.

    4. High reliability: The self-balancing multistage pump uses a self-balancing system that basically cancels the axial force load generated during pump operation, minimizing rotor wear and system interference. The small residual axial force is supported by the thrust bearing, keeping the pump shaft always in tension, with a uniform load distribution and a significant reduction of peak stress compared to the original structure, which improves the rotor's stiffness and critical speed, notably increasing the rotor's operational stability and reliability.

    5. High stability: The self-balancing multistage pump, through the excellent symmetrical combination of the impeller and guide, as well as appropriate clearance and a wide axial throttling design, maintains high stability and operational efficiency even after prolonged operation.

    6. Good cavitation performance: The self-balancing multistage pump uses an optimized hydraulic model and structural design, with a double suction structure in the first impeller stage, along with precise casting and wear-resistant materials, giving it good cavitation performance. The machine operates stably and with low noise, without the user needing to install a preliminary pump or raise the inlet tank height.

    7. High mechanical seal reliability: Because the rotor components of the self-balancing multistage pump have no axial displacement during start and stop, and no axial pulsation during operation, the problem of low mechanical seal reliability that has always affected multistage pumps has been overcome.

    8. Easy maintenance: The self-balancing multistage pump uses a three-dimensional design, with rotor components machined by numerical control, strictly ensuring the dimensions and precision of each part. This allows for quick assembly and disassembly, and replacement of seals and bearings without dismantling the pump body or the inlet and outlet pipes. General technical personnel can complete the work by following the assembly diagram's order and requirements, completely avoiding the need for specialized personnel to adjust and position axial displacement, providing great convenience to the user.

    9. Low maintenance rate: The self-balancing multistage pump uses precise casting, reducing wear parts and the frequency of disassembly and repair, prolonging the product's service life and largely avoiding a series of problems caused by frequent disassemblies, reducing maintenance costs.

    10. High adaptability: The self-balancing multistage pump uses an advanced combined modular design, with local components tested by intensive use and prolonged operation. The parts have high interchangeability, eliminating the small-gap balance disk device, better adapting to media with more severe properties than traditional structure multistage pumps.

    FAQ

    Q

What products do you mainly produce?

    A

Zoomlion Pump Industry manufactures various large industrial centrifugal pumps. The main products include: self-balancing multistage pumps, multistage centrifugal pumps, single-stage centrifugal pumps, split-case pumps, chemical pumps, submersible pumps, pipeline pumps, long-shaft pumps, condenser pumps, and more.

    Q

Can you help me choose a model?

    A

Of course! If the water pump model is not selected accurately, it can cause significant problems. After you take it back, it might be either too small to meet the usage requirements or too large, resulting in higher electricity and fuel costs, increasing the operating expenses.

    Q

Why is the price quotation so slow?

    A

Because centrifugal pumps are non-standard custom products with many models and a wide price range. Even for the same model, the price varies greatly depending on the materials and configurations used. Taking the most common pump accessory—the impeller—as an example, the price of a stainless steel impeller is several times that of a cast iron impeller. Therefore, we need to clearly confirm the relevant information to provide you with an accurate price. Normally, if you provide comprehensive information, we can quote within 5 minutes.

    Q

What information should I provide when I need a quote?

    A

Usually, if you want to get an accurate quote, it is recommended that you provide us with the following information: pump flow rate, head, on-site operating voltage, frequency, temperature of the conveyed liquid, pH value, solid particle content, on-site installation conditions (horizontal or vertical installation), and other related details. If you are not very familiar with these, it’s okay; our sales manager will assist you in determining them.

    Q

Do you have centrifugal pumps in stock?

    A

There are many models and configurations of centrifugal pumps. Except for a small number of commonly used standard models that are in stock, the vast majority of models and configurations are not stocked and are customized products. We need to first select the pump based on your site conditions such as flow rate, head, medium temperature, pH value, and installation conditions. After determining the pump model and configuration, we can then place an order with the workshop for production.

    Q

What is your usual delivery time?

    A

Models in stock can be shipped by the next day at the latest. Others are custom-made, and depending on the product size and specific project conditions, the delivery time is generally between 7-90 days. Please consult our sales manager for details: 0731-88632200
