When installing the boiler feed water pump, don't think it's done just by connecting the pipes. If a few details are not done well, there will be continuous troubles later. In this article, the boiler feed water pump manufacturer in Changsha Zhonglian Pump Industry The after-sales engineer will share some installation precautions for the boiler feed water pump, hoping to help you.

     Boiler Feed Water Pump

    1. First, let's talk about leveling the foundation, which is the easiest step to be overlooked. After placing the pump body, use a level to measure; the error must not exceed 0.1 millimeters per meter. If it is tilted, the impeller will rub against the pump casing during operation, causing leaks and harsh noise in a short time. Don't try to save effort when leveling; spending an extra ten minutes to level it can save many repair trips later.

    2. The installation of inlet and outlet pipes requires attention. The height difference between the water inlet and the water tank liquid level must be calculated accurately. For self-priming installation, the inlet must be at least 10 centimeters higher than the liquid level; otherwise, air can easily enter, causing cavitation. At the pipe and pump interface, a straight pipe section can be added, with a length at least 10 times the pipe diameter, so that the water flow can enter the pump body smoothly without turbulence affecting efficiency.

    3. The installation position of the check valve is also very important; it must be installed behind the outlet gate valve. If installed incorrectly, water will flow back when the pump stops, easily damaging the impeller. Also, there should be a certain distance between the check valve and the gate valve to facilitate later maintenance and replacement.

    4. In addition, the coaxiality between the pump body and the motor must be calibrated. The gap between the couplings should be uniform, and the error must not exceed 0.1 millimeters. Poor coaxiality will cause extra vibration during operation, resulting in loud noise and shortening the bearing's service life.

    5. After installation, don't rush to start the machine. First, check everything once. See if all bolts are tightened, if the sealing gasket is installed correctly, if there are any debris in the pipes, then manually rotate the pump to feel if there is any sticking. Only after confirming everything is fine should you power on for trial operation.

These details seem simple, but each step affects the pump's operating efficiency and service life. Spend more effort during installation, and you will have much less trouble later.
