Corrosion-resistant centrifugal pump Is suitable for conveying corrosive liquids such as strong acids, alkalis, salts, and strong oxidizers of any concentration. Chemical centrifugal pump Commonly used materials include non-metallic materials such as fluoroplastics. Its casing uses a metal outer shell lined with perfluoroalkoxy alkane (FEP), and all flow parts are made of plastic alloys (PTFE, FEP). When purchasing fluoroplastic corrosion-resistant centrifugal pumps, pump manufacturers usually ask whether you want F4 material or F46 material. So how do you distinguish between these two raw materials? Don't worry, the senior sales manager of Changsha Zhonglian Pump Industry will explain it to you.

            Distinguished by temperature resistance:

The corrosion-resistant centrifugal pump F4 material is PTFE, Chinese name: polytetrafluoroethylene, an engineering plastic. It has a wide range of high and low temperature applications, excellent chemical stability, high electrical insulation, outstanding surface non-stick properties, good lubricity, resistance to atmospheric aging, non-flammability, and self-extinguishing properties. Relative density 2.1-2.3, glass transition temperature 327°C. Non-stick coatings can be used continuously at 260°C, with a very high operating temperature of 290-300°C, extremely low friction coefficient, good wear resistance, and excellent chemical stability. Widely used for high temperature resistance (continuous use below 260°C), high-frequency insulation, corrosion-resistant wires and cables, micro coaxial cables, industrial control cables, and insulated sleeve wrapped wires.

The corrosion-resistant centrifugal pump F46 material is FEP, Chinese name: perfluoroalkoxy alkane, a modified material of polytetrafluoroethylene. F46 has similar characteristics to PTFE and also has good processing performance as a thermoplastic. Non-stick coatings melt and flow during baking to form a pore-free thin film, with excellent chemical stability, outstanding non-stick properties, and a maximum operating temperature of 200°C. Mainly used as coating layers and sheaths for high insulation, high temperature resistance, and corrosion-resistant wires and cables. It can be used continuously below 200°C and has a very low dielectric constant, dielectric loss, and very high dielectric strength over a wide temperature and frequency range. It is non-flammable in air (limiting oxygen index >95%, UL94 flame rating V-0).

    F46 temperature resistance range: -200°C to 270°C, F4 temperature resistance range: -200°C to 280°C.

            Distinguished by color:

F4 appears white and opaque, while F46 appears gray-white and semi-transparent.

            Distinguished by properties:

PTFE (F4) is polytetrafluoroethylene, with excellent temperature and corrosion resistance, resistant to corrosion by any medium, and is pure white in color. It is generally used for lined fluorine pipelines, valves, seals, rods, etc. FEP (F46) is perfluoroalkoxy alkane, transparent in color, with corrosion resistance comparable to PTFE, and is mostly used for lined fluorine pumps or all-fluorine pumps.

Both F4 and F46 have strong corrosion resistance and chemical stability. The physical properties of F4 are harder than F46, and its temperature resistance is slightly higher than F46, about 200 degrees, but F4 is more difficult to form, so many complex-shaped parts are made of F46. Using both together can increase wear resistance.

FEP (F46) is cheaper, PTFE (F4) is more expensive. Therefore, the corrosion resistance of F4 material is not as good as F46. For strong acid and strong alkali liquids, it is better to choose F46 material.
