Installation and Operation Instructions for AZ Type Chemical Corrosion-Resistant Pulp Slurry Pumps
1. Installation
1. Before installation and use, please carefully read the "Installation, Use, and Maintenance Manual"
2. The weight of the pipeline must be supported separately; the pump must not bear the weight or other torque of the pipeline.
3. The amount of #46 lubricating oil should be controlled between the two oil level lines in the oil window. Lubricating oil needs to be replaced every 1500 hours of operation.
4. For newly installed reform routes and storage tanks, flush thoroughly to prevent solid substances from entering the mechanical seal, which would affect sealing performance and lifespan.
2. Starting and Stopping
1. Preparation before starting
a. Manually rotate the impeller; it should rotate smoothly without jamming or grinding.
b. Open the inlet valve, close the outlet valve, and expel air from the pump to fill it with liquid.
c. Manually turn the pump to allow lubricating liquid to enter the mechanical seal faces.
d. Jog the motor to confirm the rotation direction is correct.
2. Starting and running
a. Fully open the inlet valve and close the outlet pipeline valve.
b. Connect the power supply; after the pump reaches normal speed, gradually open the discharge pipeline valve and adjust to the required operating conditions.
c. Observe instrument readings and check for shaft seal leakage. Normally, mechanical seal leakage should be less than 3 drops per minute. Check motor bearing temperature rise ≤70°C. If abnormalities occur, stop immediately and inspect the cause.
3. Stopping
a. Gradually close the discharge pipeline valve and cut off the power supply.
b. Close the inlet valve.
c. If the ambient temperature is below 0°C, drain the liquid inside the pump to prevent freezing damage.
d. For long-term shutdown, disassemble, clean, and package the pump for storage.
3. Pump Maintenance and Care
1. Maintenance and care during operation
a. The water inlet pipeline must be tightly sealed without water or air leaks.
b. It is forbidden for the pump to operate under cavitation conditions for extended periods.
c. It is forbidden for the motor to run overcurrent for long periods under high flow conditions.
d. Regularly check the motor current during pump operation to keep the pump running within the design operating range.
e. The pump should be monitored by dedicated personnel during operation to prevent accidents.
f. The pump bearings should be lubricated every 500 hours of operation.
g. After long-term operation, due to mechanical wear causing increased noise and vibration, stop the pump for inspection. Replace worn parts and bearings if necessary. The general major overhaul period is one year.
h. If faults occur during operation, refer to the troubleshooting methods provided in the following table. If unresolved, do not disassemble the unit arbitrarily; contact our company's maintenance department or authorized service points promptly.
2. Mechanical Seal Maintenance and Care
a. Mechanical seal lubrication should be clean and free of solid particles.
b. It is strictly forbidden for the mechanical seal to operate under dry grinding conditions.
c. Before starting, manually rotate the pump (motor) several turns to avoid sudden start causing seal ring breakage or damage.
