    Project Introduction

    Today, China United Pump Industry The workshop welcomed two customers from Zambia, who had traveled all the way to inspect the three diesel-driven open-type pump units they ordered last month for an open-pit mining drainage project at our company. Throughout the process, Manager Wu from the Foreign Trade Department accompanied them, and the customers even witnessed the acceptance testing firsthand. Currently, the entire equipment has passed inspection and been fully assembled, ready to be shipped to Guangzhou Port—directly to the open-pit mine site in Zambia. From initial communication to final deal closure, this business took a total of 45 Heaven knows, the process isn’t exactly complicated, but every step needs to be closely monitored.

     

    This year 3 This month, a Zambian customer reached out to us through a friend who attended an industry trade show. They mentioned that their open-pit mine faces significant drainage challenges during the rainy season and are in need of several sets of outdoor drainage equipment capable of handling high head and large flow rates. Initially, the customer only provided a general idea of their requirements: the depth of accumulated water in the underground workings. 25 Rice, which needs to be drained every hour 800 Cubic meters of water, and since the mine's power grid is unstable, it must rely on Diesel engine water pump (Diesel engine unit driven).

When presenting the proposal, the customer raised an interesting request: Could we add a remote monitoring module to the unit? They wanted the ability to view equipment operating data right from within China. So, we reached out to the electrical control system manufacturer and integrated this additional feature. While it did increase costs slightly, the customer found the solution highly practical and valuable.

    In terms of pricing, the customer did compare offers from three companies and even sent our configuration sheet to competitors to pressure them into lowering their bids. However, during the second video conference, the customer’s engineer remarked that our piping layout was still more practical, making future maintenance significantly easier and more efficient. On the day the contract was signed, the customer mentioned in an email: “ You’re willing to spend time refining the details—this is more important than just offering a low price. ”

    The equipment has now passed commercial inspection, and the wooden crates are securely wrapped with two layers of waterproof tarpaulin. Additionally, a spare parts list—printed in both Chinese and English—was included with the shipment. We sincerely hope these three sets of equipment can handle the job effectively once they arrive in Africa, and we’re already looking forward to being considered again when the customer plans their next production expansion.
