    Project Introduction

    Today, Zhonglian Pumps In the workshop, we received two clients from Zambia, who came from afar for the acceptance of three sets of centrifugal pumps driven by diesel engines that they ordered last month for a drainage project in an open-pit mine. Throughout the process, Manager Wu from the foreign trade department accompanied them, and the clients also witnessed the acceptance test. Currently, the complete equipment has passed acceptance and is fully assembled, ready to be shipped to the port of Guangzhou, to the open-pit mine project site in Zambia. This business, from communication to closing, took 45 days. The process was not complicated, but each stage had to be closely supervised.

     

    This year 3 in the month of, clients from Zambia contacted us through friends at an industry fair, saying that during the rainy season at their open-pit mine the drainage pressure is high and they need several sets of outdoor drainage equipment that can withstand high lift height and high flow. At first, the client only gave an approximate demand: the depth of accumulated water in the mine is 25 meters, and they must drain 800 cubic meters of water per hour, furthermore the mine's power grid is unstable, so it is necessary to use diesel engine-driven water pumps (set driven by diesel engine).

    Veteran Zhang from the technical department and his team calculated for three days, considering the local altitude of 1200 meters and its impact on the diesel engine power, as well as the possible excess sand content in the mine water. They finally recommended the centrifugal pump set with Weichai motor, with the impeller specially treated with a wear-resistant coating. When presenting the proposal, the client made an interesting request: could they install a remote monitoring module on the set? They want to be able to see the equipment's operating data from their country. We contacted the electrical control manufacturer to add this system, although the cost increased a bit, the client found it very useful.

    Regarding the price, the client compared with three suppliers and even sent our configuration sheet to competitors to pressure the price. But in the second videoconference, the client's engineer said that our piping arrangement was more reasonable and that subsequent maintenance would be much simpler. On the day of signing the contract, the client said in an email: " You are willing to spend time improving the details, that is more important than a low price. ”

    Now the set has passed commercial inspection, the waterproof tarp in the wooden box is wrapped in two layers, and the list of fragile parts accompanying the shipment is printed in Chinese and English. We hope these three units can withstand the work in Africa, and we also hope the client thinks of us for future expansions.
